Prince William

HRH Prince William of Wales is the first child from the marriage of HRH Prince Charles of Wales and Diana, Princess of Wales. HRH Prince William lies second in line to the throne of the United Kingdom and the sixteen independent states of the Commonwealth realm, behind his father.

Following the wishes of his mother that wanted her sons to be exposed to a normal, balanced life, as opposed to the secluded life of a royalty, HRH Prince William and his brother were, for the best part of their formative years, brought up in a seemingly ordinary life (apart from the round the clock surveillance and armed protection).

HRH Prince William was a competent student and sportsman throughout his academic life, culminating in him being awarded a Master of Arts (Hons) from the University of St. Andrew and representing the Scotland universities national polo team for the 2004 Celtic Nations tourney.

At the conclusion of his academic life, he attended the military officer’s training center at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, where he earned the rank of Lieutenant. Following a few other stints and secondments in the next two years, he was eventually awarded the rank of Flight Lieutenant and posted in the Royal Air Force Search and Rescue Unit in Anglesey with the No.22 Squadron, where he is still currently attached to.

A widely travelled man, HRH Prince William also shares his mother’s love for helping the less fortunate and underprivileged, and involves himself in a number of charities. An avid fan of Aston Villa, a team in the English Premier League, he is also a huge fan of shooting, and prior to its banning, fox hunting.
